Nepalese food in Bromham

Nepalese dishes are cooked to order every evening at The Prince of Wales, a village pub on Northampton Road in Bromham, Bedford. It's Nepalese cooking, not an Indian restaurant menu — momo, Himalayan-herb curries and clay-oven grills, served alongside British pub classics.

What Nepalese food is, and what to order first

Our momo are Nepalese dumplings with vegetable or chicken fillings. Both are available in steam or chilli preparations. See the menu for each option and its price.

The Chef's Specials include Himali lamb in a green Himalayan-herb sauce, chicken rum rum with Nepalese black pepper, and slow-cooked goat curry. If you want the whole spread, the mixed grills are built for sharing.

When the Nepalese kitchen serves

Nepalese dishes are served every evening. The kitchen runs 12pm–3pm and 5pm–10pm Tuesday to Friday, 12pm–3pm and 5pm–9pm on Monday, 12pm–10pm on Saturday and 12pm–9pm on Sunday, and closes between 3pm and 5pm on weekdays.

If you're making a special trip for something in particular, ring us on 01234 822447first and we'll tell you exactly what the kitchen has on that evening.

From the clay oven, and the rest of the menu

The clay oven turns out tikka, rack of lamb and tandoori king prawn. Around them sit biryanis, naans and breads, chow mein, rice and sides — enough that a table can eat entirely from the Nepalese side of the menu, or mix it freely with pub classics.

Dietary

Vegetarian and gluten-free options

There are vegetarian dishes throughout — vegetable momo, chilli paneer, honey chilli gobi and garlic chilli okra among them. Dishes marked GF on the menu have a gluten-free option; please ask staff, as preparation varies.

Nepalese food to take away

Order by phone on 01234 822447 or at the bar, with 10% off collection orders. See the takeaway menu for the available dishes.

Two menus, one table

The two menus can be ordered at one table: some guests can choose curry while others choose fish and chips, and the dishes arrive together.

We're about 10 minutes west of Bedford, with a car park on site and the route 41 bus stopping outside — an easy run from Biddenham, Kempston, Oakley, Clapham, Stagsden, Stevington and Turvey.
