Dogs welcome

Bringing your dog

Well-behaved dogs are welcome — inside as well as out in the garden. Ask at the bar and we'll bring a water bowl over.

Tell us you're bringing a dog when you book and we'll find you the right table: somewhere with a bit of floor space, out of the main walkway, and away from the door if the weather's turned.

Dog walks near the pub

There's a lot within a few minutes of the door. Bromham Mill and Bromham Bridge sit together on the edge of the village, with the footpaths along the River Great Ouse running from there. Check the route and conditions before setting out with your dog.

Bromham Lake Local Nature Reserve is the other direction, reached from Lower Farm Road: quieter, more wooded, and good on a hot day when the river path is busy.

Either way you finish within reach of the car park, so you can return to the pub after the walk.

After the walk

Muddy paws are fine — come in. The kitchen serves 12pm–3pm and 5pm–10pm Tuesday to Friday, 12pm–3pm and 5pm–9pm on Monday, straight through from midday on Saturday, and until 9pm on Sunday with the roast served until 4pm. Worth knowing about the 3pm–5pm weekday gap before you plan a long afternoon walk around lunch.

Parking and getting here

We're on Northampton Road with a car park on site, about 10 minutes west of Bedford. The Grant Palmer route 41 bus stops at Grange Court, right outside.

Everyone welcome

Dogs, children and everyone else

Families are welcome throughout, there's a children's play area in the garden, and the dog can be under the table while you eat. Nobody needs to be left at home.
